Free Entry Explained
Last updated: 25 February 2026
Hot Comps competitions offer a free postal entry route as an alternative to paid online entry.
1. How to Enter for Free
To enter for free, send an unenclosed postcard by first or second class post to:
Hot Comps LTD
Suite 14, St. Mary’s Court
Carleton Forehoe
NR9 4AL
Your postcard must clearly include:
– your full name
– your full postal address
– a contact telephone number
– your email address
– the name of the competition you wish to enter
– your date of birth (confirming you are aged 18 or over)
– confirmation that you agree to the applicable Terms and Conditions
Each postal entry must be submitted and posted separately. Multiple entries sent in one envelope are treated as one single entry.
All details must be clearly and legibly written. Illegible or incomplete entries will be void.
You must have a Website account, and the details on your postcard must match your account details.
2. Delivery, Receipt and Validity
Postal entries must be delivered to the Promoter’s correspondence address before the relevant Closing Date and time.
A postal entry is treated as received when it is delivered to the Promoter’s correspondence address.
If the maximum number of total entries for a competition is reached before the Closing Date, the competition will close to all further entries (both paid and free).
Where a valid free postal entry is delivered before the Closing Date and time, it will be treated as a valid entry (subject to the Terms and Conditions) even if processing and ticket allocation happen after closing.
Any entry that does not comply with these requirements will be void.
3. Equal Odds and No Disadvantage
Valid free postal entries and valid paid entries are treated equally.
– Free entries are allocated ticket numbers from the same pool and sequence as paid entries.
– Each valid ticket carries an equal chance of winning.
– Free entrants are not disadvantaged in allocation or draw process.
– No priority is given to paid entries.
Where the paid entry price per ticket is lower than the typical cost of postage, the Promoter may allocate more than one ticket per valid postal entry to ensure the free entry route is not disadvantaged. The allocation method will be applied consistently.
4. Processing Timeframe
Free postal entries are collected and processed daily (excluding bank holidays). Entries received on a working day are processed either that day or on the next working day.
5. Visibility Before Purchase
Information about the free entry route is clearly displayed before the point of purchase and near relevant buy and entry actions on the Website.
For full legal entry rules and postal requirements, see our Terms and Conditions.
